About
A Note from Our Founder & President
Since I was a child, my best and brightest ideas have come to life while sitting with my feet in the water ripples of Little Cedar Creek in my paternal family’s hometown of Cave Spring, Georgia. In 2021, while doing exactly that, I decided it was time I put those ideas to work. That’s why I founded Creekside Creative, an integrated marketing and strategic communications firm built to help organizations and individuals maximize their reach and build brands that captivate.
Like flowing water, it’s important to have a plan to navigate rocks in the way and sudden bends - and even when all is calm, one must ensure that the water is healthy for all to drink. We are here to help every step of the way, building strategies to ensure marketing and communications success.
John Casey
Founder & President
John is the founder of CreeksideCreative, a marketing and communications firm with a proven track record of driving growth, shaping influence, and earning trust. The firm proudly partners with large and small businesses, mission-driven nonprofits, advocacy organizations, and public-sector agencies across sectors.
John’s journey began at Loyola University New Orleans, where he earned degrees in mass communication and political science and served as an editor of the award-winning Maroon. He built his foundation in storytelling as a contributor to local publications including The Times-Picayune, and gained mixed media experience at CNN’s Southeast News Bureau. He then moved into politics, serving as a senior staffer on campaigns across the Southeast and later as a strategic consultant for political and advocacy efforts. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he pivoted into healthcare communications, leading marketing and fundraising for Grady Health Foundation in support of one of the nation’s largest safety net hospitals.
Through CreeksideCreative, he now supports a wide range of clients — including a national leader in attainable housing construction, metro Atlanta nonprofits advancing affordable housing and access to justice, to a statewide champion of sustainable working forests and rural economic development, and many more.
He’s passionate about mentoring emerging professionals and enjoys connecting with fellow professionals who care about making an impact. He is a Rotarian of the Rotary Club of Rome and a representative of Northwest Georgia on the National Small Business Association Leadership Council. He also sits on the Board of Directors of the Rome Floyd Chamber of Commerce, Fairview-Brown Heritage Corporation and Alton Holman Heritage Arts Inc, and serves as Chair-elect of the Advisory Board for the Digital Media and Communication degree program at Georgia Highlands College.
